Auris, a subsidiary of the telecommunications conglomerate Cima Group, adds another strategic partner in Latin America by closing a deal with the largest Panamanian cable company, Cable Onda. Through the use of the Auris Wholesale Platform, Cable Onda can now engage in arbitrage with the international long distance traffic generated from their rapidly growing subscriber base, adding yet another revenue stream and improving margins in that space.
“By using the Auris Wholesale Platform, Cable Onda will now have access to the same tools that top international carriers have, giving us the ability to play in their space and have a greater advantage amongst our competitors using the brand Telecarrier as a front,” explained Gaspar Tarte, Vice President of Cable Onda. “As we continue to grow in the voice ILD business this was the next logical step for Cable Onda.”
Cable Onda chose the Auris Wholesale Platform because of the security it offers, the ease of use, integration of the platform, and the advanced routing features. In addition, the platform provides the ability to reconcile CDR’s and manage bilateral relationships, an important feature that separated Auris from its competitors, explained Cable Onda executives.
This business deal strengthens Auris’ position within the cable segment, understanding the cable industry’s natural need for expansion into the voice business whether from the wholesale or retail side. As a business enabler, the Auris Wholesale Platform has a full suite of solutions perfectly catered for cable companies and MVNO’s.
